Members of the Ottawa Academy of Psychologists are registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

OUR MEMBERS

Members of the Ottawa Academy of Psychology are Ottawa and area psychologists and psychological associates. Members are registered to practice in Ontario and have fulfilled standardized academic and clinical training in order to meet the provincial regulations, standards and ethical guidelines set down by the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

To qualify for College registration each member must:

meet rigorous educational and training requirements for entry into the profession;
successfully complete designated written examinations; and,
successfully complete an oral examination designed to evaluate readiness for professional practice and knowledge of ethics and standards.

Some members may be in process of obtaining full registration. These members who are in practice function under the supervision of a registered psychologist or psychological associate, in which instance their status is to be declared to anyone receiving services from them.

Finally, some members are retired and no longer providing services to the public, but are nonetheless interested and involved in the Academy.
